Following the most impressive WordCamp UK conference in Birmingham – a review will follow at some point – I am persuaded to start a blog. To date I have resisted this, being busy and not at all convinced that my ramblings will be of any interest to anyone. However, I am already convinced that WordPress is the new way of doing the web for me and my customers, I am persuaded that this is now absolutely necessary for me to explore the entire potential of the medium – so here is the blog. It is an exercise in learning through spouting off. And I can sound off on most things.

So I intend to track the progress of my WordPress web design business, Realitus. I will visit my exploits on a mountain bike in the cause of getting fit with a focal point of July 2009 when I will be taking part in Mountain Mayhem. I will use this space to do guitars, contemplate the wonders of red wine and to have a pop at everything else.

Credits should be made before I forget. At WordCamp UK the talented and very generous (he helped me fix a technical headache on one of the Realitus sites) James R Whitehead of Interconnect IT is launching the Blend Theme (this one) as his first premium theme. I and other have agreed to test it. So far it looks good, has loads of flexibility in the CMS and I shall certainly stick with it for a while, perhaps until I am asked to test other themes.

Realitus, my new company specialising in WordPress design and consultancy needs to be mentioned as does Creative Thing my Marketing and Design company, the vehicle through which I earn a crust and through which discovered WordPress as a (non-blog) CMS and design platform.
